Wii Racing Games – Reviewing the Top 3

Friday, June 26th, 2009

I bought my kids Mario Kart and we all love it. In fact, we love it so much that it has been one of the more effective discipline tactics used… ever. No Mario Kart is an amazing motivator… at least for kids ages 5-11.

Anyway, I found this short review of the top 3 Wii Racing games. Check it out:

Wii Not Recommended After a Car Accident

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

I was in a pretty bad car accident. Thankfully, everyone involved is doing okay… and I’m just ultra-sore. Mostly my back and my neck.

But what this means is that my Wii workouts have had to stop for a while. If you’ve ever done the Wii Boxing that comes in Wii Sports, you’ll know how much your shoulders can hurt afterwards. So, I’m steering clear for a while.

Hopefully I won’t gain weight after being off of the exercise regimen for a while.

Make Your Wii Your Entertainment System Too

Friday, April 24th, 2009

OK. This is one part of the Nintendo Wii that takes a long time for people to get started with… if you’re like me and most of my friends anyway…

You can turn your Nintendo Wii into a personal entertainment system. You’ve seen those Wii Channels everytime you start on the Wii Start Page, right? Well, they’re called channels for a reason. Check this out…

You Can Get Tons of Media Downloads for Your Wii System

You can download games, music, TV shows, movies, and more. If you’re using the Wii Fit… I mean… do you really want to listen to that cheesy music being played in the background? I don’t. Especially that music in the Aerobics games. (The one exception for me is the Hoola Hoop music for some reason… weird, I know.)

How to Backup Wii Games – Start Copying and Backing up Your Wii Games Fast and Easy

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

If you are the owner of a Nintendo Wii gaming system, then you have probably wondered if it is possible to copy or backup your Nintendo games. Well you should be glad to hear that you can back up Wii games and this article will tell you how to make a Wii disc back up. The concept is the same for burning a CD or DVD, but the software for burning Wii games is different.

The most important thing that you need to do to backup your Wii game is to find software that is made specifically for making backup copies of video games. Video game discs come with copyright protection features that wont allow you to use regular CD or DVD burning software, however there are now software companies out there who make software that will allow you to bypass the copyright protection features and back up Wii games.

Once you have the software installed on your computer it will be able to read the game disc, without it your computer will never recognize the game. So just remember that you must have game copying software to backup your Wii games.

The software is very easy to use, and in just a couple of steps you should have a backup for your original copy. The first thing that you would do is take your original Wii game disc which should be in good condition already, and insert it into your computer, your computer and the software will make a duplicate image of your game, when that process is finished you will be prompted to insert a blank disc and then the software does all the rest and makes you a backup copy of your original game.

If you play games on different gaming consoles, the software not only works for Nintendo Wii games, but you can also make backups for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games.

Now that you have learned how to backup Wii games, start protecting your video games today.

Still Not Able to Beat 298 in Wii Sports Bowling

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Since my post a while back about getting a 298 in bowling on Wii Sports, I haven’t been able to get past 9 strikes in a row. Have any of you bowled a 300? Post a comment and tell us what happens. Also, let us know if you have any tips.

Wii Tennis Opponent Stuck in the Stands

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

I’ve been playing a lot of Wii Tennis that comes with Wii Sports. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m way above what I thought was the upper limit. My rank/score is 2268. Up until recently, I thought the highest you could go after professional is the top of the screen, or 2000. Apparently not.

Anyway, I was at a friend’s house and we were talking about the strategies for getting a higher rank (more coming in a future post). Then, something weird happened…

My friend was playing against the Wii opponents (I wasn’t playing with or against him). He sort of spiked the ball at an angle toward the left side of the court, just near the net. The computer opponent jumped really high to get the ball off the bounce… They hit it back, but they ended up in the stands. And the other Wii opponent had to play the remainder of the volley alone, while the first one was trapped in the stands.

Useless post, I know, but I also wanted to brag a bit about my rank in tennis :)

LEGO Video Games Series

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

LEGO Games for Nintendo are quite popular. Since the release of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars the LEGO Star Wars games sales have climbed, too. And sometimes, with them, the price. Check here for auctions of LEGO games before checking in the stores…

How many people can play at once on Mario Kart for Nintendo Wii?

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

My mom just brought home Mario Kart for the Nintendo Wii last night. I was just wondering if more that two people can play at once on Mario Kart. Please don’t answer unless you are 100% sure that you’re right.

Playing Wii Sports Bowling With My Kids

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

I blew it… I was playing Wii Sports with my kids.  I bowled a 298… blew it on the last throw.

In case you are wondering, here’s what is said for each strike after the first:

2 strikes – “Double”

3 strikes – “Turkey”

4 strikes – “Fourth”

5 strikes – “Fifth”

6 strikes – “Six-Pack”

7 strikes – “Seven-Pack”

8 strikes – “8 in a Row”

9 strikes – “9 in a Row”

10 strikes – “10 in a Row”

11 strikes – “11 in a Row”

I don’t know what it says if you bowl a perfect game, though.

One annoying thing about bowling so well in the game is that everything is pretty realistic until you get to like 7 strikes in a row.  I real life, the whole bowling alley would stop and watch from that point on.  But, in Wii Sports Bowling, people keep right on bowling – even in the lanes next to you.

When I blew it on the last throw, someone in the next lane bowled right before I started going.  I guess I only have Mii to blame, though :0)

Guitar Hero Auctions

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Guitar Hero is ultra-popular right now. Although you can easily find it in stores right now (especially with the way the economy stinks), you might be able to find a much better deal. If you can get it cheaper through an auction, why not?… (Check out the other auctions in the tab at the top of Auctions4Games.com called “Gaming Deals”)
